Hypnotherapy sessions in Moorgate, London

Everyday life can be full of ups and downs, yet sometimes even those with the most fulfilling life can experience troubled times or darker moments.

Stress and anxiety, low self esteem, phobias, depression and addictions can disrupt our lives, leaving us feeling as though we’re teetering on the brink of being out of control.

There is a way to overcome these unwanted behaviours, restore your inner peace and self worth, giving you the confidence and power to get on with your life.

Hypnotherapy sessions at my Moorgate clinic in London, can get to the root cause of these and other psychological issues, while positive thought patterns will help you deal with anything that comes your way.

What is clinical hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a form of hypnosis, used by licensed and trained clinicians like me, to treat a psychological or physical problem and bring about positive change.

It’s a million miles from the hypnosis used by entertainers on stage, which is defined as : “an unconscious state in which someone can still see and hear, and can be influenced to follow commands or answer questions”.

Clinical hypnotherapy is a state of deep relaxation that can only be achieved by a qualified cognitive hypnotherapist and a willing patient.

It can help with a wide range of issues, from stopping smoking to helping patients overcome anxiety or phobias.

Cognitive behavioural therapy vs cognitive hypnotherapy

It’s worth pointing out at this stage that there is a considerable difference between cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy.

CBT is an action-oriented method that aims to curb unwanted fear, behaviour, or other issues so the person can then remain in control. These techniques train the mind to react differently to the emotions.

In contrast, cognitive hypnotherapy sessions at my Moorgate practice in London use the unconscious mind to safely address the patients’ issues.

I will then use positive suggestion to help in overcoming whatever is causing their fear, anxiety or stress.

Solution Focused hypnotherapy

I offer what is known as Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. It blends modern psychotherapy methods with hypnosis, and rather than focusing on a patient’s problems, I target the solutions, helping bring about fast and significant positive change in their own life.

There are a wide range of physical and mental issues my London-based hypnotherapy sessions can help you overcome.

Debilitating phobias

Whether you’re frightened of needles, creepy crawlies or flying, as your clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, I can liberate you from these irrational fears using your unconscious mind.

These techniques can also help eliminate resistance to a particular issue, helping you move past a phobia or fear.

Anxiety, stress and depression

Feelings of anxiety and stress can be hard to separate, making these challenging mental health conditions difficult to overcome. Hypnotherapy sessions at my London practice can help bring light into the darkness.

It can be an effective complementary therapy for anyone whose life is marked by depression. As a hypnotherapist, I know the treatment can increase a sense of well-being for clients, lift their mood, and enhance feelings of hopefulness at difficult times.

Hypnotherapy counselling can also reduce anxiety levels, while at the same time giving people the emotional strength to deal with potentially tricky situations.

Ditch those bad habits

Curative hypnotherapy can be incredibly effective when it comes to stopping smoking. It works with the conscious and unconscious minds of clients to focus on the benefits of stubbing out a cigarette for good without increasing your anxiety levels.

Eating disorders and addictions

Eating disorders or addictions are a complex and difficult issue to approach, but hypnotherapy has been proved to be effective at helping reduce anxiety and break negative behaviour cycles.

Insomnia

When combined with good sleep hygiene, cognitive hypnotherapy techniques have been effective for those suffering with chronic and acute insomnia

If you’re among the 2.2% of people plagued by night terrors or regular nightmares, don’t suffer in silence! My curative hypnotherapy sessions can help ease that anxiety too.

Weight management

Eating a balanced diet and taking regular exercise are the best ways for most clients to achieve long-term weight loss.

However, my Moorgate cognitive hypnotherapy sessions can help you make positive changes to your life when it comes to weight management.

Chronic conditions

Studies have shown that more than 75% of people with arthritis and related diseases have experienced a reduction in pain after treatment from a hypnotherapist.

I use the deep relaxation brought about during hypnotherapy to help patients better manage the pain and anxiety of chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis.

PTSD/OCD

My London hypnotherapy sessions can teach patients that are troubled by obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), how to be more aware of their urges, unwanted habits and thoughts, and implement positive changes.

As a clinical hypnotherapist, I can also help people struggling with trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), enabling them to access their memories in a controlled way and reconstruct them more positively without anxiety.

Irritable bowel syndrome

Hypnotherapy has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and one that can last for several years.

Anger management

Sessions at my Moorgate clinic, near Liverpool Street, can help you tap into internal reserves of calm and better manage your emotions at times of anxiety or crisis, or when the ‘red mist’ descends.

Build confidence

As well as helping a person quit smoking or sleep better, I know my treatment can be a powerful tool to help build confidence and increase self-esteem levels in people who are struggling on their life journey.

Hypnosis as a therapy is also incredibly good for improving emotional stability and the overall awareness of self.

Achieve your personal goals

If you’re having a hard time achieving particular personal goals, maybe now’s the time to drop by my London office and try clinical hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapists can go further than a life coach, as we can identify and help access the inner clarity and drive that may have been previously mentally off-limits.

As well as teaching you to relax, I’ll encourage you to release any mindset limitations, anxiety or stress. I will also focus on the positive ways you can boost your personal development, whether that’s improving relationships or enhancing your career.

Hypnopregnancy and Hypnofertility

I am also a qualified hypnofertility and hypnopregnancy practitioner, which means I can help get you in the best physical, mental and emotional state to become pregnant.

I also offer a combination of techniques to clients in London, such as guided meditation, visualisation, positive suggestions and affirmations to minimise concerns, and deal with concerns or anxiety during childbirth.

What can I expect from a hypnotherapy session?

A Solution Focused hypnotherapy session at my London clinic involves putting a person in a trance state.

Many people think hypnotherapy is a form of mind control, or that once you’re in a trance, you will be stuck in it all day. This is absolutely not the case!

It is a completely safe and natural state, a little like daydreaming. We all enter this state several times a day, and all you need to do to exit a trance state is open your eyes.

What this relaxed frame of mind allows is your mind to focus on thoughts and suggestions that I know will bring about positive change, because I’ve seen it in the lives of so many clients.

Case study

One patient came to me with a very sceptical attitude about how hypnotherapy could help them.

They understood how my work as a hypnotherapist could help someone with bad habits like smoking or phobias, as they were linked to a state of mind. But this person could not identify how the therapy could help them, as they believed their fertility struggles were a biological issue.

“What I did not realise at the time was there are plenty of other areas I could improve to cope with the situation much better rather than purely focusing on biology”, they said.

The patient reacted differently to things that would once have angered or irritated them, moving on rather than dwelling on them. As the therapy sessions drew to a close, their sleep improved and in general, they were less anxious and felt much happier.

“It has taken me a while to realise the big changes the treatment has made to my approach and attitude towards life in general,” they said.

“I’m guessing that’s partly due to having been in this negative and frustrated mindset for too long… I’ve become more relaxed about most things happening around me. My outlook has been more focused on the positive.”
